An open letter from the Oklahoma City leagues to our derby family, and others that feel the need to and can contribute:On behalf of the OKC Metro area derby leagues, the Oklahoma Victory Dolls, Oklahoma City Roller Derby, the OKC Outlaws, and the OKC Wolf Pack, we thank you for the concerned messages and kind words following the violent tornadoes that have impacted our state this week. Our neighbors have been hit hard and there is devastation that affects us all.For the first time, all four area derby leagues are banding together for a common cause. We are reaching out to our derby community, friends, and family for help. In an effort to assist those affected by the recent tragedies in our area, we have started a fundraising campaign through Crowd Rise to benefit Feeding America. Please consider contributing to our cause. The funds we raise will be used for delivery truckloads of food, water, and supplies to impacted areas through Feeding America’s more than 200 food banks and 61,000 agencies. The organization’s food banks will also set up additional drop off sites. The website for our fundraising efforts is:http://www.crowdrise.com/FeedingAmericaOKLA/fundraiser/okcmetroderbyleaguesThank you, in advance, for your contribution to our cause. Every little bit helps.

Growing Pains
Growing up, everyone wants to hit their siblings. Here at TXRD, it’s totally allowed. Better yet, we encourage it! Introducing TeXasJrRollerDerby (TXJRD).

A lot of derby leagues out there have junior leagues or “brats” associated with them. But not very many team up with their smaller version and pair off for that sentimental, positive growth, role-model stuff. Our “Bigs” as we call ourselves, do exactly that. Each “little” in TXJRD is paired with a big sister from TXRD. We share practices periodically, support each other at bouts (and normal life), and even roll-out together at introductions.

TXJRD is a positive, athletic activity for girls 11-18 that are interested in all-girl, contact roller derby both flat and banked track. TXRD thinks this is just “smashing” and supports them in every avenue of their league, including providing practice space for them at our Thunderdome Training Facility! If you haven’t had the opportunity to catch our littles, be sure to make the next TXRD bout and see them in action! They’d love to have the support and we’d be big-sister-proud to have you there with us cheering them on.

Our 2012 Champs, the Rhinestone Cowgirls are dukin’ it out with the Ch-ch-Cherry Bombs on May 11th at the Palmer Events Center at 7pm. Be there to catch all the “Big” action, and the “littles” with their Big Sisters at roll-out and showing everyone how Texas Roller Derby is played in the demo jam!! Also TXJRD will have a mini-bout pre-game and at half-time at our June 29 game.

We are Texas Junior Roller Derby.

We hope to raise some money to send our team to Slidell, Louisiana!  Please Help!

Our girls have skates on and will skate all the way there, if they have to… but riding in a car is safer and more efficient.

Thanks for Helping!

If you want to donate to a specific player, please note this in the comment!

Thank you!

Is it hot in here, or is it just me? The Devil himself was distracted Sundayand all the Hellcats got away. She attempted to right her wrongby sending the Putas to bring them home. But those kitties crossed Styx to our shore to come and wreak havoc at our door. We’ve got them confined to our banked track, waiting for Charon to escort them back. While the Devil is busy again this Sunday, those Putas and Kitties are gonna play. Join us for the “hottest” bout around; nothing but pleasure is sure to be found. It should prove to be one “Hell” of a fuss -  the Hellcats and Putas just love a good tuss(le). The point scoring record is back up to “snatch” - will Bloody’s claws be enough to hold Boss back?Don’t miss your chance, Charon won’t wait long; so get down to the Palmer and cheer these girls on!! February 17th at 7pm is the date, come at 6 so you won’t be late. Everyone will be there waiting to see
the clash of the bad girls of TXRD.
Tickets and t-shirts can still be bought;  bring all your money - don’t give it much thought!Toss  all your cares and your kids in the van, get ready to scream - you know you’re a fan! Remember on Sunday to head to the Palmer,
ignore the weather since inside will be warmer. It’s all hellfire and claws at the first bout of the season, you better not miss it  - you’ve got no reason!
